Good afternoon!!! Today in Nursery we had a visit with our Playtime friends!! We learned a new game where we had to follow what Monkey was doing!! Miss Lindsay helped us to find our eyes, ears, nose, mouth and hair!!

Then we had to trace a picture of Melody! It is not easy following the dotted line!!

Then we had to color the picture!! Some of us got really creative with our color choices!!!

Good afternoon!!! Today in Nursery we finished working on our poster for the Giotto project!

Miss Lindsay helped us glue on the cotton for the clouds! Then we glued Styrofoam for the snow, pieces of plastic water bottles for the hail and then we did small blue beads for the rain!!

We added sparkly arrows to show the direction of the cycle and then Miss Paola wrote "Armonia dell'acqua", which is our title and that we colored in Rainbow!! We are very happy with how the poster came out and can't wait for the finishing touches to be made!!!

Good afternoon!!!!  Today in Nursery we started our day off talking about our Giotto project! 

We continued our discussion on the harmony of the water cycle and started to design our poster!

Miss Paola and Miss Lindsay had some really fun materials for us to use. Below is just an idea of how it will come out!! We can't wait to present our poster!!

Good afternoon!!! Today in Nursery we worked with Miss Lindsay on Playtime!! We met with our friends Rocket, Twig, Star, Melody and Monkey!!!

We worked in our Playtime books where we had to find where our friends were hiding and to trace the lines to see the picture!! We love Playtime and hearing about Monkey!!!

Good afternoon!!! Today in Nursery Miss Lindsay taught us about African Animals since we will pretend to be them in our play, The Lion King!! There are so many interesting animals that come from the African Savanna!! Some are very well known like the elephant and the giraffe!! There are lions, rhinos, zebras, warthogs, meerkats and baboons!!  It is going to be a really fun play!!

We also celebrated our classmate Joshua's 4th birthday!!! We each drew a picture for him to take home!! We can't wait to share the cake he brought!!! Happy Birthday Joshua!!!!!

Good afternoon!!! Today in Nursery we started the day off with Miss Paola and worked on Maths! We talked about long and short and compared the blocks! We had to look around the room for other examples of long and short!!

Then we worked in our our work books and to color the truck with the longer logs!

Then we got to see the result of our experiment from Friday!! The liquid water became solid ice!! Our pine cone became frozen in the ice and couldn't move anymore!!

Good afternoon!! Today we started a really interesting project with Miss Paola and Miss Lindsay!! We are going to take part in contest that is put on by Giotto where our class could win so many fun art supplies!! To take part we create a big poster that talks about Harmony in any area we want! So we have decided to talk about Harmony in nature with the water cycle. We started our morning learning about what the water cycle is and why it is important! Miss Paola explained it to us, then Miss Lindsay read us a story in English about it!

We learned about the important parts such as rain, vapour, clouds, the sun and snow!

Then we started a science experiment! We put a pine cone in a cup filled with water and we put it in the freezer, now  we have to wait to see what is going to happen!

Then Miss Lindsay gave us a worksheet that showed the water cycle which we had to color!!

We had the yellow sun, grey cloud, blue water and green arrows!!! Make sure to ask us how this cycle works!!!!

Good afternoon! Today in Nursery we worked in Playtime with Miss Lindsay! We met up with our new friends and listened to a story about them looking for Monkey!!

Then we worked in our Playtime books and had to follow a maze to get to Monkey!!

Then Miss Lindsay asked us to draw ourselves with Monkey!! Monkey is so fun!!

Good afternoon!! Today in Nursery we started the day listening to a story about a Pony that Rebecca brought to share with us! After Miss Lindsay finished reading the story we talked about having a pony and what our dream pony would look like!! There were some great colors: red, blues, black, yellow, pink and a few white ones!! We even gave them names!!

Then after lunch we worked on Socio Effetivo with Miss Helen! We talked about surprises and what surprises us! We then had to draw a picture with the felt tips!!

Good afternoon!! Today in Nursery we worked with Miss Paola on Maths and talked about Big and Bigger!! We compared objects and their size!

Then the 4 year olds worked in their note books connecting objects of the same size and then of course we had to color them!!!

We 3 year olds were lucky, because after the discussion we got to play!!! It was so nice playing together!!!

Good afternoon!!!! Today in Nursery we talked about what our parents do and what we to be when we are grown ups! We discovered that our parents all do very interesting things!! Then Miss Lindsay asked us what we wanted to be when we grow up! Many of us want to be like our parents and have jobs like them, while others had some pretty creative options.

We then had to draw ourselves in this job for our Memory Book.There were drawings of policemen, cooks, princesses, superheroes, builders, car sales men, business men, doctors, eye glass salesmen and even a Pope!! It was really fun to imagine what we will be like when we are big!!

Oh and don't forget, Tomorrow is Open Day here at Pianca School. Everyone is welcome to come between 15:30 and 17:30! Make sure to spread the word!!!

Good afternoon!! Today in Nursery we started our day with Maestra Michela doing gymnastics. It is always great getting to exercise and move around! Then we had music with Maestra Elena.We sang so many fun songs and practised rhythm and the music scales.

We even did some dancing that went with the beat of the music. We really enjoy music time and it is so hard to pick our favorite song!!

Good afternoon!!! Today in Nursery we started Playtime with Miss Lindsay! We met 5 new friends: Monkey, Rocket, Star, Melody, and Twig! We are going to have a great time hearing about their adventures!

After learning some new songs, we worked in our Playtime books. The first exercise was to connect the fronts to the backs of our new friends!

The 4 year olds used thick colored pencils, while the 3 year olds used the felt tips!

Then we counted our new friends up to number 6 and had to follow the line to the number that matched!! It was really fun!!!

Good afternoon!! Today in Nursery we started the day by singing our weather song! It doesn't seem that much has changed so we are still putting up cloudy! Then Miss Lindsay read a really fun story about the noises animals make called "Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear?"

We then picked our favourite animal from the story and drew a picture! Here we have a Zebra who is braying!

And a roaring Lion!! Miss Lindsay was very impressed by our work!

Good afternoon and Happy New Year!!! We hope everyone enjoyed their holiday break!! Today in Nursery we started the day talking about what we did over the break with Miss Lindsay. We had lots to share! Many of us went to the mountains while other spent some much needed time with their families. 

Then Miss Lindsay had us draw a picture of our favourite part of our holiday break! There were some great skiing drawings, as well as some of PaneVin!

Then after lunch we worked with Miss Lindsay on colors!

We separated into groups and then each group had to sort out their color. Then we could play with the blocks with our group. It is fun to learn about the Rainbow in English!
